Michelle’s Bio

Michelle Reynolds is an award winning dancer and choregrapher. She dabbled in Raks Sharki and American Cabaret style belly dance on and off beginning in 1998. Beguiled by Bal Anat at Rakkasah 2005, she decided to try tribal style belly dance. Michelle began taking classes with Kathy Stahlman, director of Tribal Moon, in August of 2005, and has since been addicted to all things bellydance. Michelle spent time training with Palika of Heavy Hips, and Jill Parker of Ultra Gypsy. In April of 2005, she began taking classes from Crystal Silmi, who is predominately responsible for her technical style. Michelle has been given many performance opportunities with Crystal’s troupe, RaksArabi. Most notably, Michelle was given the opportunity to perform with Bal Anat in 2006.

Michelle is a versatile dancer who combines bellydance isolations and movement with various other dance forms in order to create something different every time she performs. She appreciates and continues to study more traditional styles of bellydance. However, her inspiration isn’t always traditional. Michelle’s dance training has been primarily bellydance, but she gathers creative energy from the music and style of pop, hip hop, modern, jazz, burlesque, and anything else she so desires.
